I Inspire Myself: Generation Z
I inspire myself because I must. Not every day is perfect, and some days, no one claps for you—but still, I rise. I remember where I started, where I’m headed, and why I can’t afford to stop. As a young African, I’ve realized that if I don’t fuel my own belief, the world may never see what I know I’m capable of. So I light my own fire—and I keep it burning.
Vision 2040 isn’t just a dream—it’s a call. A call to build the Africa we imagine: thriving, innovative, self-led. But to get there, we have to believe in ourselves first. Growing up, I didn’t always see people who looked like me doing what I dreamed of—but I dared to dream anyway. I saw my name on buildings, my voice shaping change, and my story lighting the path for others. Not for fame—for impact. For legacy.
There’s no script for what we’re doing. Many of us are the first—first to graduate, first to build, first to lead beyond borders. That comes with pressure. That comes with pain. But it also comes with purpose. Vision 2040 is being built by people like us—brick by brick. And we don’t wait for permission. We start where we are and move with conviction.
To every young African: your presence in this story matters. Whether you’re building in tech, health, policy, art, or agriculture—you are shaping the future. The world is slowly realizing what Africa already knew: our excellence isn’t emerging, it’s evolving. And we don’t need validation to move forward. Our time is now.
I’ve been rejected. I’ve worked twice as hard to be seen. But I’ve used every obstacle as fuel. And today, I don’t just look at how far I have to go—I honor how far I’ve come. Every win counts. Every step forward is a seed planted for 2040.
When I’m tired, I rest—but I don’t retreat. Because I know inspiration isn’t always found outside. Sometimes, it’s simply surviving when everything tried to stop you. And that’s enough. That’s powerful.
So to my fellow builders of Vision 2040: be your own loudest voice. Learn. Build. Fall. Rise. Repeat. Represent your roots with pride—but never let them limit your reach. We are rewriting Africa’s story, one bold step at a time. And by just being who we are—we are already transforming the future.
